Different Stuff

Hello!

Since I haven’t posted anything in 4 days and nothing in November yet I figured I had to write something.

This weekend we had a “normal” weekend with nights out at bars Friday and Saturday including a midnight swim in the pool on Friday and two males (including myself) shopping excessively on Saturday afternoon. Even though I didn’t want to go at first but most of the time that’s the best case. So FYI: I bought a great hooded sweater, a swim short (awesome) and four (4) shirts, one of them with a very old German song on it.

Today I accidently tipped an ashtray standing on our balcony which fell down 11 floors and luckily didn’t hit anybody walking by. I just realized some minutes later how lucky I really was not killing anybody!

The rest of the evening today was about planning the next weekend and my next trip during Christmas holidays.

Next Friday we will probably go to Genting to go to the casino and an adventure park. Supposedly the best one in Malaysia but some students just told us that it is not comparable to a park in Europe. It is supposed to be thrilling though as well because you never know about the Malaysian safety regulations. They just don’t have “TÜV Süd” here….

During Christmas I would like to visit Borneo after staying in KL for my birthday. I will see some Orang Utans, maybe hike up Mt. Kinabalu with 4095m the highest spot in Malaysia and dive at Sipadan on of the most beautiful dive spots in the world.

Sabah, Malaysia on Borneo

But the tickets are not booked yet and I have to talk to my “maybe travel partners” about the plans. So we have to see. Decisions have to be made soon though due to Christmas and all the bloody Europeans flying over here to spend nice and warm vacations taking all the hotels. You also have to book the diving in Sipadan ahead of time because only 120 divers are allowed there now due to the damage caused to the reef by invasions of divers in recent years.

Well that’s about it for now. I just have one more information for you: I only work 4 days this week because on Thursday it is a national holiday called “Deepavali”. It’s comparable to Christmas and is celebrated by Indian people. I and some other members of my department are invited to an Indian house on Friday to celebrate with the family.

That’s it for now… I will let you know more about Deepavali tomorrow!!

Robert
